How Not to Sink Your New Favorite Shirt

Wash in cold water—hot water is for sailors in a hurry. (max 90F/30C).

Turn it inside out first to protect the graphic you’ll probably wear until it becomes part of the crew.

Use a gentle detergent. This cotton likes calm conditions.

Wash separately the first time, as the color may run a little before settling in.

Tumble dry on low or hang it out to dry—preferably somewhere with a sea breeze.
